Historical

The Coastal Zones Research Institute was created in 2002 from the merger of three research and development centres on the Acadian Peninsula in New Brunswick: The Peat Research and Development Center, the Research and Development Center for marine products and the research component of the New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine Center. Since then, the Institute has grown remarkably and has carved out a respectable niche in the industry.

In 2014, the Institute embarked on a new phase of development by adopting an institutional strategy to enrich its marketing capacities and guide its growth activities.

In 2018, the Coastal Research Institute becomes Valorēs, a simpler name to remember that reflects the nature of our operations. Our slogan "Science at Work" emphasizes our role as a research partner.

VALORĒS is today an independent, not-for-profit organization with an affiliation to the University of Moncton - Shippagan Campus.
